Ancillary Task 1: Digipak - Designing Back Cover

For the design of the back cover of the EP, we began by taking the art-board from the front cover and using it as a template to build upon. We wanted to design a simplistic back cover that showed continuity from the front.
We added small grass designs similar to the ones used on the front cover. This was part of our attempt to maintain the nature/artificiality theme of the front cover.
We continued by adding some brick wall designs similar to the ones on the front cover.
We added the track-list for the EP, and decided to use the Futura font due to its simplicity. The fact that its a sans-serif font makes it easy to read and compliments our production company logo. We also decided upon centralizing the typeface to create a neat, simple back cover.
Finally we added a small apple above the track-list and added our production company logo between the two brick walls.

Digipak Album Cover Creation

As part of our 1st ancillary task - the design of a 'digipak' for the EP - we decided to work on the artwork for the album's cover. Here is a stage by stage breakdown of the planning and execution of the artwork for Low Res' 'OUTSIDE'

The Preliminary sketch for 'OUTSIDE' concept.
Working closely with the artist we brainstormed ideas for the themes of the album's artwork. In accord with Low Res' ideas for the music, we decided on a juxtaposition of man and nature, and set about preparing a simple sketch design on which to base our concept.

The sketch actualized using Illustrator and Photoshop
Next, we set about drawing our design digitally via adobe illustrator. Once complete, we transferred it into photoshop to begin adding details.

Details added - etches and shading added to the design
Further shading produces a near-final greyscale copy.
After completing a detailed final b-and-w design we set about adding color using a paintbrush tool on a bamboo tablet.

Near-Final colourised copy.
After final tweaking to the colours,
a final copy was produced.

Audience Profiling

Using the website Piktochart.com we designed a short infographic poster explaining audience profiling. We're currently producing a visual presentation explaining our project's audience profiles.
